Our Cast Iron Inserts have been inspired and carefully copied from original designs in the Victorian era. Every effort has been made to replicate those originals as closely as possible.

Choosing the right fuel for your Cast Iron appliance is vital to ensure an enjoyable, trouble-free use. To burn solid fuel in a smoke controlled area, the law determines the appliance must be DEFRA approved or the fuel must be smokeless. Therefore we would only recommend burning very dry wood or smokeless coal.

Please note this product is not suitable for primary heating purposes.

Cast Iron

When looking for THE most durable material there is for your fireplace look no further. Cast Iron will not only retain its aesthetic details a lot longer than stone but it can also play a practical role. Due to its thermal conductivity if the material is close enough to your heat source and depending on the strength of the heat source, it will absorb and radiate that heat.

Treatment of Cast Iron should be consulted with a member of the ‘Esher Fireplaces’ team as it has its own traits and care requirements.

16″ Cast Iron Arched Insert, suitable for Gas, Solid Fuel and Electric Fires and available with an optional deeper back for a larger burning area. (965 x 965 mm)
